VANCOUVER, Canada—Shen Yun Performing Arts is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance company and puts on a unique performance. For Keivan Nasirnia, a financial adviser, and Nasim Kalantari, an administrator, the artistry was unparalleled.

“That was exceptional,” said Mr. Kalantari. “A masterpiece. A combination of perfect colors, perfect music, everything.”

“I mean, it’s 100 percent perfect,” he continued. “I highly recommend it to everyone to watch it at least once.”

Ms. Nasirnia agreed, praising the colors and coordination of the performance coming together.

The two saw New York-based Shen Yun at Queen Elizabeth Theatre on the afternoon of March 23 and said they appreciated the thread of tradition within the performance.

“It’s good if we can get more connected with our traditional things. ... For me, it’s like that,” Ms. Nasirnia said, expressing gratitude to the performers for bringing these values to the world’s stage.

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive China’s 5,000 years of civilization, which was believed to be divinely inspired and centered on values like benevolence, wisdom, and propriety.

“I just wanted to say thank you and keep going. It’s really good,” Ms. Nasirnia said.

Mr. Kalantari agreed.

“China has a long history. It’s not easy to bring the whole story in just two hours,” he said, but Shen Yun was able to convey it in a way that was “perfect.”

“The big part is what’s going on in the world. Some parts of the world don’t allow people to enjoy the beauty—the freedom,” Mr. Kalantari added. “That’s the sad part.”

Also impressed with the artistry was Mike England, a CEO in the mining industry, who said the beauty of the performance “brought a tear to my eye at times.”
“The dazzling colors, ... the vivid oranges, the white, the pinks,” he said. “They’re wonderful, ... 100 percent, absolutely. And the music along with it—it’s all so well done, amazing.”

Mr. England said he appreciated Shen Yun’s mission and felt its successful revival of the once-lost history was important.

“It’s good to show everyone what has happened over the years,” he said. “It’s showing what the history and the traditions have been.”

And it was doing it in the most beautiful way, he added.

“Amazing, dazzling, stunning, beautiful,” he said.
