“Perhaps heaven brought me here today to show me what I should do in the latter part of my life. Shen Yun has inspired me greatly,” said Li Mei-tzu, former director and CEO of the World Chinese Business Women Entrepreneurs Association.
“I was truly astonished. From the beginning, it felt like I was brought to a beautiful heavenly court. It was calm, peaceful, and joyful, yet profoundly moving. How could there be such a harmonious atmosphere, such vivid imagery?” Ms. Li marveled.
“I was captivated. Each program flowed seamlessly into the next, and I was fully immersed until the grand finale,” said Ms. Li.
“Perhaps in the latter part of my life, I should embody the spirit of the divine beings—not merely seeking their blessings but learning from them to influence those around me. Today has inspired me greatly,” she said.
Ms. Li shared that she suffered a severe car accident accident a decade ago and that the accident taught her, “that when your life is spared, it’s because heaven has a purpose for you. It’s about understanding what He has given you and following that path to do better.”
Ms. Li shared that she will recommend everyone to experience Shen Yun at least once in their life.
“Shen Yun moves us and teaches us. Once you see it, you'll understand whether we should do something in return. So, when Shen Yun comes to your city, go see it quickly. Shen Yun is truly worth seeing—don’t miss it,” she said.
On the afternoon of April 20, 2024, the gallery art program host and media operator Lisa Lai attended the fifth performance of Shen Yun at the Yuanlin Performing Arts Center in Changhua.
“The dance requires a lot of time to master, including the movements and expressions. Without language, they can only tell stories through facial expressions and body language, which I know is truly challenging,” said Ms. Lai.
Classical Chinese dance is one of the most comprehensive and expressive dance systems in the world. Ms. Lai believes that a performance like this is unique to the world.
“Shen Yun has no spoken language. Nowadays, most media content uses spoken language. But when you remove this element, it becomes pure. You can only use facial expressions and body language, which is why I think the audience is so focused. That’s purity,” said Ms. Lai.
Although she is from Taiwan, Ms. Lai has immersed herself in Western culture, so she was pleasantly surprised to see Shen Yun’s presentation of traditional Chinese culture.
“[The music was] warm, very selfless. I don’t know why, but there’s a sense of being embraced, perhaps because of the blend of Eastern and Western elements, which I see as an aspect of inclusiveness,” said Ms. Lai.
