‘You learn from the performance’

“This is my fifth time—fifth consecutive year—to come see Shen Yun. I really like to come here. The first time it was a Christmas present from my parents. I made it a tradition every year to come since then.”

“The most important thing I find about this show is that it’s preserving the culture, preserving history. History is very important in any country, in any culture. It’s who we are. It represents each person, from language to religion, to values. So I find it very important to share, to make go it viral, to show it to the world as much as you can.”

“I think the effort is just amazing, especially since they’ve continued since 2006, travelling all over the world. … I find it very encouraging.”

“You can feel from the performance, from the dancers, their emotions, what they are going through. You learn from the performance. You learn from the different acts that are being performed. You learn from the songs, from listening to the music, how the culture is.

“And the way Shen Yun is educating people … is very important because [China] is rich in history, of course. I find it very interesting the way Shen Yun is educating people through art, through dance, music, songs, which shows how diverse the performing arts are.”

“There was a huge diversity in the dances. I really liked when we went to Tibet—the huge drums. I like how very well the dances are choreographed. There was no mistake, none at all. Very timely, the performances on cue, on time.”
