Houston Texans quarterback Tom Savage appeared to suffer a seizure on the field after he was hit during Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Savage continued to play after the crushing blow. Fans on social media implored the quarterback to remain out of the game.
According to Deadspin, he was put through the league-mandated concussion protocol, but then returned to the field for the next possession. He was replaced by TJ Yates after that.
Later, he attempted to run onto the field and was pulled back by team personnel.
Savage is now officially out with a concussion, according to the Texans.
