Wounded Veterans March Through Dallas During the 1,000-Mile Trek
Six wounded veterans from the United States and the United Kingdom are walking across the country. They were in Dallas, Texas, on Monday, June 12.
The veterans are taking their 1,000-mile journey, which started in California earlier this month, to bring awareness of mental health issues among veterans and raise money to support wounded veterans.
They stopped in Dallas and met with representatives from the Bush Center and its Team 43 veterans group at the George W. Bush Presidential Center.
The Texas summer sun is a test for the six veterans, who will also stop at the Alamo in San Antonio and then on to Houston and Beaumont.
The walk is expected conclude in New York City in September.
