Two women who tried to check in and smuggle a dead relative on a flight to Berlin, Germany, have been arrested by British police.

Airport employees at the check-in desk at Liverpool’s Lennon Airport became suspicious of the motionless and cold-looking man sitting in a wheelchair with sunglasses on. A medical team then determined the man was dead.

The wife and stepdaughter of 91-year-old Curt Willi Jarant had taken him by taxi to the airport and tried to convince the airport employees that the man was disabled and always likes to sleep like that. British police believe that the man died from natural cause a day before.

The two women were charged with failing to report a death and were released on bail.
