Two South Carolina moms are facing charges after multiple children were found living in a home filled with trash, liquor bottles, and feces, according to police.

An officer found pieces of a broken mirror and other glass on the ground in the yard. Three of the children’s diapers were so soiled that they were dropping, according to the incident report.

The oldest child told the officer that his parents were not home but his aunt was in the house. When the officer entered the residence he found 27-year-old Fallon Stowell completely covered with a blanket on the couch, reported the news station.

According to the report, the officer noticed the home was full of trash, liquor bottles, and feces on the floor. There was spoiled food and dirty dishes in the kitchen and a crib with extremely soiled bedding, the officer said.

The officer also found a lit candle on the couch and a multicolored bong with narcotic residue.

The Department of Social Services responded to the incident and the six children were placed in emergency protective custody.

Logan Stowell, 26, eventually returned to the home, which she shares with Fallon. Both women are single parents to three of the children, reported the news station, citing the incident report.

Michael Patrick McKnight, 24, and Jamie Leigh Hiatt, 24 from Lexington were charged with felony neglect-child abuse involving serious injury and six counts of misdemeanor child abuse.

The children were aged between 1 and 6 and were subjected to filthy and unhealthy living conditions. One of the children was found with maggots in their diaper, according to the staff at the Lexington Medical Center, reported the news station.
