Being born with teeth is exceedingly rare--the medical community pegs the odds of such an occurrence at only one out of every 2,000 births.

Two infant sisters from India have those odds beat and then some. Each of the girls was born with two lower front teeth.  What’s more, they were born premature at 32 weeks—defying odds all over the medical literature.

Their parents were “naturally...worried” about the presence of the teeth, according to a case study published in the journal BMJ.

But, as it turns out, aside from the teeth being a bit yellow and brown, the girls were perfectly healthy and the teeth weren’t causing any problems—so doctors decided to keep them. In fact, the teeth don’t even hurt the mother as the infants breastfeed.
