President Donald Trump criticized media proprietor and talk show host Oprah Winfrey in a tweet late on Sunday saying that she would be “exposed and defeated” if she ran for president in 2020.

“Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes. The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect,” Trump wrote. “Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!”
Trump’s tweet references a CBS 60 Minutes panel discussion with 14 people from Grand Rapid’s, Michigan. CBS interviewed the same group about their views last year. Half of the people voted for Trump and half did not.

“We never intended to go back to Grand Rapids. But then we learned that, after disagreeing on virtually everything, our group stayed in close touch,” Winfrey said explaining the show’s origin. “Members from opposite sides of the divide actually became friends, organizing outings and talking every day in a private facebook chat group. All of that made us want to go back.”

Winfrey has not said that she plans to run for president, but talk of her candidacy began after she gave a politicized speech during the Golden Globe Awards last month.

Winfrey’s boyfriend, Stedman Graham, told Los Angeles Times that “she would absolutely do it.”

“It’s up to the people,” Graham said.

When asked about considering a run for president in 2020, Winfrey denied the rumors, saying that God has not yet told her to do it.

“If God actually wanted me to run, wouldn’t God kinda tell me? And I haven’t heard that,” Winfrey told CBS.

Sunday wasn’t the first time Trump said he would beat Oprah if she ran. He made similar remarks last month.

“Yeah, I’ll beat Oprah. Oprah would be a lot of fun,” Trump said, according to Fox News. “I know her very well. I like Oprah. I don’t think she’s going to run.”

In a 1988 interview, Oprah asked Trump if he would run for president.

“Probably not. But I do get tired of seeing the country ripped off,” Trump said at the time.

“And if it got so bad, I never want to rule it out totally, because I really am tired of seeing what’s happening with this country,” Trump added.
