President Donald Trump dispelled rumors of an alleged upheaval at the White House on Tuesday, calling reports of “chaos” in his administration a “new fake news narrative.”

“The new Fake News narrative is that there is CHAOS in the White House,” Trump wrote on Twitter on Tuesday morning. “Wrong! People will always come & go, and I want strong dialogue before making a final decision. I still have some people that I want to change (always seeking perfection). There is no Chaos, only great Energy!”

Over the past week, a barrage of liberal media reports alleged that the latest staff changes at the White House add up to “chaos” in the Trump administration. The only person to have actually left the White House staff so far this year is Rob Porter, a staff secretary, who resigned last month amid allegations of spouse abuse. Hope Hicks, the communications director, and Josh Raffel, a deputy communications director, announced their intention to resign last week.

Reports of upheaval at the White House have all come from anonymous sources. No one in the Trump administration is on record corroborating the “chaos” narrative.

In addition to Porter’s resignation and the planned exits by Hicks and Raffel, all reports of impending resignations and terminations also originate from anonymous sources and have been disputed by the White House.

Bloomberg reported that Chief Economic Advisor Gary Cohn may resign over Trump’s decision to impose steel and aluminum tariffs. Several publications also cited anonymous sources to speculate that National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster would also depart. The White House denied both rumors.

“General McMaster is not going anywhere, as the president said yesterday in the Oval Office to a number of people,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told Fox News on March 2. “He thinks [McMaster] is doing a great job and is glad he is here.”

“The bottom line is if this is chaos, I think the American people are glad for it because we just passed the biggest tax cuts in history,” Sanders added. “ISIS is on the run. We’re rebuilding our military. We’re rebuilding the judiciary—remaking what that looks like. The economy is strong. We have a lot of positive things happening within this country, and that’s happening under the direction and the leadership of President Trump, and we’re going to continue to big and great things over the next year under his leadership. If they want to call it ‘chaos,’ fine. But we call it success and productivity, and we’re going to keep plugging along.”
