Certain subway stations may get wireless internet soon. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) told CBS on Saturday that the Grand Central Terminal, Penn Station, and two commuter rail services will get wireless internet.

The MTA said that they are negotiating with the service providers, which will have to pay for it.

The MTA also said they will raise fares by 7.5 percent starting next year in order to close a $750 million budget gap.

The agency said they have to raise fares because of the public outcry against cutting various services, such as free MetroCards for school children, as well as cutting several train and bus lines.
