CINCINNATI—After the curtain closed on Divine Performing Arts (DPA) at the Cincinnati Music Hall on December 23, many appreciative audience members talked about their impressions of the show before they left.

Mr. Wong, a trustee with a township in Ohio, came to the show with his friend Mr. Sears. Mr. Wong said that although he is Chinese, he was nevertheless shocked to see the portrayal of authentic traditional culture and its inner meaning that was expressed in the show.

“All the programs are so colorful, and very interesting. The show tells many Chinese myths that are not well-known to people. I definitely rate this show the top—it is a high class production. Those dance actors look so light, especially the actress in the program Flowing Sleeves, she looks like she’s floating and flying. I have seen other Chinese show before, but none of them compare to this.”

Ms. Chen, a business woman, came to the show with her son from nearby Dayton.

“I feel all the programs are excellent,” she said. “The group dances are so well coordinated. It is not simple, they must spend a lot effort. Besides, I have watched last year’s show, but this year all the programs are different, it is so refreshing.”

Linda said, “I was mostly moved by the Falun Gong program, “Persecuted on a Sacred Path.” I wish the persecution of Falun Gong could stop immediately. As long as one is not doing bad things, to be a good person [one should not be persecuted]. It is one’s right to believe in truthfulness, compassion and forbearance. There shouldn’t be a one-party dictatorship, and the persecution should be stopped.”
