An 8-year-old girl was recovering from devastating burns in a hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, when she received a surprise visit from Taylor Swift.

The pop star came without notice on May 5 at the Arizona Burn Center to see Isabella McCune, according to The Arizona Republic.

The McCune family had earlier sent a video on May 2 which featured Isabella asking Swift to visit her because she couldn’t leave the hospital for Swift’s upcoming concert the following week.

Isabella suffered third-degree burns over 65 percent of her body from a fire that erupted at a neighborhood party on St. Patrick’s Day in March, according to her family.

Swift signed autographs and gifted Isabella with a bag of merchandise from her concert tour. She also wrote in Isabella’s journal.

“Isabella! I hope you feel better soon and I’m so honored you’ve been listening to my music. You’re so awesome and I can’t wait to have you at a show!! Stay strong, gorgeous. Love, Taylor.”

Even though hugs sometimes hurt for Isabella, she asked for one from Swift.

Swift stayed for about 20 minutes in total. Isabella’s father, J.D. McCune was grateful for Swift’s visit and happy for his daughter.

“She’s one of the biggest pop stars in the world right now and she came and saw my little girl,” said J.D. McCune, azfamily reported.
