Members of the domestic terrorist organization Antifa gathered in Washington on Aug. 12 to “counterprotest” a small gathering of right-wing demonstrators on the one-year anniversary of the Charlottesville riots, and to threaten President Donald Trump in videos with violence and even murder.
“The Secret Service is aware of the videos circulating in the media. As a matter of policy, we do not comment regarding Protective Intelligence investigations,” a Secret Service spokesperson told The Epoch Times in an email.
When Antifa members were asked by a Daily Caller reporter at the rally about what they would do if they saw the president in person, the responses all had one thing in common: the physical harm or “murder” of the president.
Some of the answers included: “I would murder him,” and “We'd have to do him like Gaddafi,” (referencing the Libyan dictator, who was killed by his own people).
The two sides were separated by a large police presence at Lafayette Square, near the White House. The right-wing rally, dubbed the “Unite the Right 2,” ended early due to rain.
Trump marked the anniversary in a Twitter post on Aug. 11 and called for unity.
