Social media star Johnny “Danger” Bennett, a stuntman, died in a motorcycle crash, and his family took his ashes to Thailand.

Bennett, who had about 270,000 followers on Instagram and 300,000 on Facebook, died in a crash in New Zealand, close friend Julian Rivers-Smith told Stuff.nz.

His brother, Wayne, wrote on Facebook that the cremation “wasn’t his send-off ... this was all so we could take him with us.”

He wrote that the trip will celebrate Bennett’s life “[as] he would want us to,” Newshub reported.

A witness said that he was riding along with about 50 others on Anzac Day.

“I got to a point where everyone was signalling to stop because a guy had come off, so I went over to help,” the witness said, choosing to remain anonymous, as reported by Stuff.nz. The bike went into a ditch.

“When I got to him he was unconscious and bleeding. I only knew his name was Johnny, because everyone was calling him that, I didn’t know he was anyone famous until later,” the person said.

Bennett had started his own brand of beer, Dangers Lager, while also starring in an MTV series called “MTV Presents: Johnny Danger.”

A statement from MTV reads: “We’ve truly lost one of the greats. We hope you’re cracking into the Danger’s Lager up there. Whenever we swig, we'll be doing it for you,” Newshub reported.

MTV described him as a “beloved stuntman” and a “daredevil” and says he “gained thousands of followers for his hilarious skits and often very risky stunt videos.”

“On behalf of everyone here at MTV we are absolutely devastated. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends,” the statement added.

Danger first made headlines in 2013 for a student that was called “idiotic” and “reckless” by police. Then, he rode across the Auckland Harbour Bridge on the roof of a taxi, Newshub reported.

He was 29 at the time of his death.
