A police dog, named Poncho, with the Municipal Police of Madrid performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a police officer who played dead. The demonstration was part of a show for children and families, who applauded and cheered.

The moment was captured on video and posted on social media—it has gained more than 2.7 million views on Twitter.

It shows a police officer who falls to the ground landing on his back. He lies very still, seemingly unresponsive.

Soon the dog rushes to his side, and begins to jump on him repeatedly and lands on the officer’s chest each time.

The clever dog even appeared to be checking the officer’s breathing every now and then.

After about 25 seconds, the officer stands up.

The department praised the intelligent dog in a translated tweet on June 22 about how Poncho “did not hesitate for an instant to ‘save the life’ of the agent” with his “heroic” deed!
