Parents of children being treated at a Minnesota hospital are preserving their memories on camera and sharing them with others as part of an exhibition to instill hope.
The program, called Perspectives, lets families at Masonic Children’s Hospital take a free on-site course from a professional photographer on how to snap good photos, reports Fox9 . Then they can use one of six high-grade cameras to document the journeys of their children in treatment.
The exhibit was unveiled at the hospital on Feb. 19, 2018.
The mother of a young girl undergoing treatment for bone cancer says in the video that the experience has been a valuable way to preserve positive memories.
In her view, it is the moments of hope and happiness that tend to fade the fastest along the often arduous path of treatment. By catching on camera the beautiful moments on the road to recovery, a hospital staff member says, they can serve to inspire.
This year over 14,000 photos have been shared as part of the exhibition to capture the belief that better days are ahead.
