People Scream as Roof Collapses at Airport With Thunderous Rumble
A section of a roof collapsed at Nanchang Changbei International Airport on Sunday, March 4, around 3:30 p.m., as storms swept Jiangxi province in southeast China.
This video shows the roof rapidly collapsing and falling apart. The roof covered the entrance of the airport’s Terminal 2 arrival hall, China NewsAsia reported. Despite the collapse and the resulting commotion, nobody was injured and flights continued as normal.
Heavy rain pummeled the airport that day with winds exceeding 67 mph.
The airport opened in 1999 and is the largest airport in Nanchang.
