Pearl Place Offers Best of Urban Living in Prime North York Location
Pearl Place promises to be a residential gem in North York, bringing together sophisticated contemporary architecture, desirable amenities, and a great location.
The 34-storey condominium from the Conservatory Group will create a new landmark at the corner of Yonge St., and Hollywood Ave., steps from the Sheppard subway station and the Toronto Centre for the Arts. There are numerous shopping and dining choices within a short walk, and just north of Pearl Place is the famous Mel Lastman Square, a hub of community activities and events year-round.
The neighbourhood offers the best in urban living and the excitement of iconic Yonge Street, yet is surrounded by peaceful streets.
“One of the great things about North York is it has a downtown feel, yet just one block away is a low-rise residential neighbourhood with schools and parks,” says Christine Ramsay, Senior Vice President High Rise Division, Norman Hill Realty Inc. “All of the schools in the area are top notch and we have people moving here specifically for the schools.”
The Sheppard subway is two short blocks away from Pearl Place and the Yonge Sheppard Centre at that corner is being completely revamped, with two new entrances created from Yonge Street and new retailers, restaurants, and services, including a Longo’s grocery store and LA Fitness, to open late in 2018. Other shopping choices in the area include a Loblaws store and Whole Foods market. Pearl Place will include three floors of retail and commercial space at street level, adding to the neighbourhood amenities.
“It’s an area where you can live comfortably without a car,” says Christine. “It’s a very walkable neighbourhood with a nice mix of people. We’re getting buyers who are first timers, people who are downsizing or those who purchased their first condo and now want to move up to a larger condo.”
Pearl Place will add a distinctive modern statement to the corner of Yonge and Hollywood, with a glass, steel and concrete building. Project architect is Richmond Architects Ltd. and collaborative design consultant is Zeidler Partnership Architects. The building’s elegant lobby with stone accents creates a luxurious entrance, and the condo amenities will be state-of-the-art, combining the elements of a fitness centre, upscale spa, and social centre. Residents will enjoy an indoor pool, sauna, whirlpool, men’s and women’s change rooms, exercise, spa, and massage rooms. Two outdoor terraces, a theatre room, dining room, party room, and billiards room will encourage socializing among friends and neighbours. A guest suite will be available to accommodate overnight visitors.
Suites are available in a wide variety of plans, including one-bedroom, one-bedroom with den, two-bedroom, two-bedroom with den and three-bedroom configurations, ranging from 540 to 926 square feet and prices starting from $506,900.
Suite features include 9-foot ceilings, laminate and tile flooring, designer kitchens with choice of quartz or granite countertops and undermount sinks. A stainless-steel appliance package includes full-size fridge and stove.
The Conservatory Group has put careful thought into designing suites that maximize space and are highly functional. Kitchens are well designed and efficient, and some one-bedroom plus den suits have two full bathrooms. Generous balconies extend living space to the outdoors and floor-to-ceiling windows provide terrific views of Yonge Street.
To make selection of finishes easy, the Conservatory Group has several designer packages to choose from, or buyers can personalize their choices at the developer’s state-of-the-art décor centre.
With its prime location and proximity to transit, shopping, and more, Pearl Place has been appealing to a variety of buyers, including Chinese purchasers.
“We’ve had a lot of interest from Chinese buyers,” says Chris. “They appreciate the diversity of the community that will be living here.”
The Conservatory Group is a family business with a more than 50-year history of home building in the Greater Toronto Area. It is one of Canada’s largest builders of luxury condominiums in desirable neighbourhoods such as North York, Thornhill, Mississauga and midtown and downtown Toronto.
“The company has had many repeat buyers, who are been happy with the product and the quality of workmanship,” says Chris.
The Pearl Place presentation gallery is at 4917 Yonge St.
