An Alaska Airlines flight made an emergency landing at the Oakland International Airport on Wednesday after it reportedly hit a bird.

Reports said that the plane was flying out of the San Jose airport.

The plane was heading to Honolulu, Hawaii, reported the Oakland Tribune. The jet was carrying 166 passengers and crew members.

Shortly after the plane left the airport, the crew said a possible bird strike took place and landed the plane as a precaution.

It was confirmed by CBS News that the plane actually hit a bird.
