Moxy Chelsea Opens in Manhattan’s Flower District This Fall

A glass-enclosed atrium with lush vegetation and flowers, a three-story-high living wall, and sunlight flooding through greenhouse-style windows will welcome guests into Moxy Chelsea, a new lifestyle hotel opening in Manhattan this fall. Developed by Lightstone and part of Marriott International’s experiential Moxy Hotels brand, the hotel is the second collaboration by Yabu Pushelberg and Rockwell Group, the designers behind Moxy Times Square.

At the entrance, butcher blocks suspended from the 12-foot ceiling act as check-in kiosks; mobile check-in and keyless entry are also available through the Marriott Mobile App. The 349 bedrooms feature 10-foot ceilings and full floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall windows, as well as custom-designed, multipurpose, foldaway furniture.

For eating and drinking, there will be a restaurant, cafe, pastry shop, and cocktail bar and lounge, brand-new concepts from TAO Group in partnership with Francesco and Lorenzo Panella of Antica Pesa.

The property also houses two meeting studios, a coworking lounge, and a vintage Italian-style outdoor garden terrace. A glass-enclosed rooftop lounge—with a retractable window wall—offers expansive views of the city.
