A mother’s day lunch ended with arrests at a restaurant in Glendale. According to Fox 6, a Milwaukee family went to bd’s Mongolian Grill on Sunday, May 13 to enjoy a meal together, but it ended with mother and daughter being arrested.

“It became a scene that was totally uncalled for,” said the mother, Marlena McDaniel. McDaniel added that she felt she had been short-changed by $20.

As they were leaving the restaurant, she went back to confront the waitress. At this point, her daughter started recording with her cell phone. The situation quickly excalated.

The waitress insisted that she did nothing wrong. “She threw the money at us and my mom got offended by that,” said McDaniel’s daughter, La'Lena Wrencher.

McDaniel became agitated, yelling at the waitress. Other customers then got involved, fuelling the conflict.

“She would cuss at my mom and my mom would cuss at her back,” Wrencher said.

McDaniel describes another conflict between her daughter and a different waitress which was not recorded.

“One ’muffed‘ my daughter which is kind of a ’umf to your face,' and my daughter muffed her back,” said McDaniel.

According to Fox 6, a Glendale police report describe the action instead as a ‘punch’ to the face.

The mother and daughter were both arrested.

McDaniel said that she has some regrets about her behavior, but feels that other people involved should also be held accountable.

“I’m an adult at the end of the day, I’m 38. There was a better way I could’ve handled the situation,” McDaniel said.

Wrencher said that she and her mother will remember the day that they were both locked up together.

McDaniel was cited for disorderly contact and her daughter was cited forbattery.

An attempt to interview the restaurant manager was redirected to their corporate office.
