A 9-year-old girl who went missing for 2 years has recently been found, thanks to a tip generated by A&E’s “Live PD”—a police series.
It was unclear where exactly she had been found.
“At this time, Mariah’s mom is still in police custody, and we understand she’s not cooperating at all,” NCMEC spokeswoman Angeline Hartmann said on “Live PD.”
An affidavit obtained by KBCD reveals why police filed for the children’s emergency removal from their mother.
The report states that Child Protective Services talked to Jeremiah on Oct. 6, 2016. He told them that his mother’s boyfriend, Issac Sanders, had punched him in the nose after a fight with her. He also said that Sanders had threatened to kill the whole family by driving into a pond.
On Oct. 17, teachers at Mariah’s and Jeremiah’s school reached out to Child Protective Services because the children had not been at school for a whole week, according to the report.
Meanwhile, on the same day, their mother, had tested positive for methamphetamine.
Child Protective Services then tried to contact the mother but by then she and all her children had vanished.
The mother was later arrested on felony charges after police received a call about their whereabouts by a family member, KBCD reported.
