It’s only been seven months since Andy Quay, 25, bought his shiny red Ford Mustang GT500 with black racing stripes—the sports car retails at nearly $68,000.

Recently, a video emerged that shows the moment Quay tried to park a quad bike next to his car. Instead, he crashed the ATV into his own car.

“I’d just stopped the quad to park it, and I was just getting off it,” he said.

As he took his foot off the pedal, the bike accelerated and smashed into the side of the sports car before spinning in the air, throwing Quay aside.

“It just took off and did a wheelie, knocking off the wing mirror of my car,“ Quay said. “The quad bike is my pal’s, I was only taking it to the unit to get it fixed.”

Quay explained why he thought the ATV suddenly accelerated.

“The suspension and the throttle conversion had been altered—that was why it went flying,” he said.

A fisherman, from Greenock, Scotland, said Quay hurt his leg in the fall. The bike and car were both damaged.

“My friend had only just got the bike and I was helping him put it in the back of the van when it went off and nearly broke my wrist,” the fisherman said.
