KFC’s infamous burger is coming to the UK. It’s a meat-eater’s dream.

The “Double Down” replaces the bread roll with two fried chicken fillets. In the words of the fast-food chain: “It’s meat on meat on meat.”

The chicken fillets encase crispy bacon, melted Monterey Jack cheese, and BBQ sauce.

The “sandwich” is apparently popular in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand and will be in the UK for a limited time only—six weeks. It was first available in selected US stores in 2010.

The fast-food chain took to Twitter to announce the launch of the “Double Down” in the UK. It will arrive on Monday, October 9.

The “Double Down” has 540 calories, 32g of fat and 1,380mg of sodium according to KFC, Consumerist reports. That’s not too outrageous in the fast-food world.

It’s priced at £4.79, or £5.79 with fries and a drink.

Jack Hinchliffe, innovation director at KFC UK & Ireland, said: “There’s been so much excitement for the Double Down since it first launched to the US in 2010,” according to reports.

“It’s sold out in every country that it’s been released in, so we’re anticipating it’ll be a sell-out success here in the UK,” he said.

Who needs bread when there’s fried chicken?

In 2015, KFC launched a “Double Down” hot dog in the Philippines, according to a Facebook post from the fast-food giant.

Fried chicken lovers in the UK, who are hopefully heart healthy, have already expressed how they can’t wait for the “Double Down”.

“I am so ready for the Double Down burger to come to KFC,” tweeted one keen user.

Another felt that their dreams had come true.

Twitter user Matt took to social media to express his excitement.
