The Swedish journalist who was brutally murdered then cut up texted her boyfriend just before dying and told him she was still alive.
Kim Wall texted her boyfriend in August just moments before going down into a submarine in Denmark.
“I’m still alive btw (by the way),” she said. “But going down now! I love you!!!!!!”
“He brought coffee and cookies tho,” she said.
The 30-year-old then boarded the homemade submarine crafted by a Danish inventor.
The journalist’s body parts and clothing was discovered in the ocean in the days and months following her disappearance.
Peter Madsen, the inventor, at first claimed that he dropped Wall off and didn’t know what happened to her after that.
He then said she died in an accident, saying she may have died of carbon monoxide poisoning or from hitting her head on the hatch, he said.
Madsen took the stand on the first day of his trial in Copenhagen on Thursday and denied he killed Wall.
Madsen said his story has changed because he wanted to spare her family.
“I was only thinking about Kim Wall’s relatives,” he said. “It’s a very, very horrible story. I knew she was dead and she would not come back. I had only one purpose and it was to spare the relatives as much as possible.”
While Madsen denies murdering Wall, he admitted to dismembering her body and throwing it into the ocean.
