A horse-drawn carriage hit two cars in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, on Saturday, according to local media reports.

The carriage was downtown for a private event and wasn’t part of a city event.

In the incident, two horses and a carriage hit two vehicles at Main St. and Wisconsin Ave in the city.

“We turned the corner onto Main Street and here comes this wagon, with no driver, swerving back and forth like an old West show,” Jim Sanborn said, TMJ4 reported.

The animals likely became frightened and ran off, police said.

“The first thing I did was help some people off the wagon with little kids,” Sanborn said. “They were just completely freaked out.”

Eight people were on board the carriage when the incident unfolded. There were six people riding in the two cars. All are expected to be fine.

“That’s a miracle,” Sanborn said. “That’s the best news we could’ve gotten.”
