It’s a good year for Harley-Davidson fans.
The world’s only Harley-Davidson Museum, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, turns 10. It will host a 1940s-style motorcycle rally on July 14, “Wild Ones: Vintage Motorcycle Rally,” featuring motorcycles dating from 1948 through 1965. There will also be an antique motorcycle ride-in show; and motorcycle field games (slow race, plank ride, barrel race, T-ball, ball on cone and weenie bite), with proceeds going to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin.
It’s also the Harley-Davidson Motor Company’s 115th year. That means a slew of events, including rides starting this August from four corners of the country—San Diego; Portland, Maine; Seattle; and Fort Lauderdale—to Milwaukee’s Veterans Park.
The 115th anniversary event takes place in Milwaukee Aug. 29–Sept. 2 with high wire thrill shows, flat track motorcycle racing, vertical racing (with a $7,500 prize), street parties, local rides, a parade, a police and civilian skills competition, beach racing (on the shoreline of Lake Michigan, for the first time in 100 years), and demo rides of new 2019 Harley-Davidson motorcycles at local dealerships.
