Smoky meets sweet in Glenfiddich Fire & Cane, the latest launch from the award-winning single malt Scotch whisky. The concept is the newest addition to the Glenfiddich Experimental Series.
Fire & Cane is made with smoky whisky married with non-peated whisky, both matured in bourbon barrels made with naturally sweet American oak, then finished in sweet Latin rum casks, sourced from various South American countries, for three months. The result has tasting notes of campfire smoke, oak, and peat—the fire—overlaid with sweet toffee, green fruit character, baked apple, and toasted marshmallow—the cane.
“This new single malt truly encapsulates the spirit of experimentation,” said Glenfiddich malt master Brian Kinsman in a press release. “We started with a question: What would happen if we did something with peat that we had not done before? The answer is an unconventional and unexpected whisky, one that is truly surprising.”
