A frantic search has been launched for a 23-year-old Virginia mom who vanished from her front yard amid signs of a struggle.
TerriLynn St. John was last seen in her front yard early Tuesday, Feb. 27, at her home on Mill Wharf Road in Wake, preparing to take her children to daycare.
The door to her home was found open by her father, who alerted the police.
St. John has two small children, ages one and three, who were alone inside.
Police said other evidence included a broken necklace in the yard.
The persons of interest were being interviewed late Tuesday.
But Middlesex Sheriff’s Major Michael Sampson said on Wednesday that it was too late to say whether St. John was abducted.
A search of the area was conducted by multiple officers, with assistance from drones and dogs.
The Virginia State Police was called in to assist with air surveillance.
Beaches and boat landings in the area were searched as well.
Sr. John recently moved to Wake with her family. She’s described as a white female standing 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
She has multiple tattoos, including the letters R.J.M. on her right wrist, a princess crown on her left wrist, and a cross on her ring finger.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office at (804) 758-2779 or 911.
