Liverpool pursue Ezequiel Lavezzi, Chelsea move for Mehdi Benatia, and Manchester United are once again trying to sign Mats Hummels along with Daley Blind.

French side Paris Saint-Germain could be open to Liverpool’s bid for Ezequiel Lavezzi as they seek out Angel di Maria, according to the Express.

PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi has said that Argentine midfielder Angel di Maria is “very expensive” and that they have “stopped discussions.”

However, the real issue at stake is that PSG will fail to meet UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations if they move for Di Maria, and they need to offload players before they can add another.

As a result, forward Ezequiel Lavezzi, who is a Liverpool target, could be sold to the Reds in order for Di Maria to be bought.

Meanwhile, Chelsea might sabotage Man United’s move for Mehdi Benatia.

New United boss Louis van Gaal wants to sign the 27-year-old Roma center back as he scrambles to find defensive cover.

Van Gaal could be making a massive £30 million ($50.3 million) bid for Benatia, but this might be highjacked by Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho actually wanted to sign Porto’s Eliaquim Mangala, but the defender is heading to Man City, so Mourinho is going for Benatia instead.

Benatia is not the only defender that Van Gaal is willing to fork out £30 million ($50.3 million) for.

According to the Daily Star, the former Netherlands coach is making a final push for Borussia Dortmund star Mats Hummels, and has upped their previous bid from £20 million ($33.6 million) to £30 million ($50.3 million).

Should Dortmund and Hummels be still not amenable, Van Gaal could be push for Ajax’s Daley Blind.
