CHICAGO—The Divine Performing Arts (DPA) New York Company presented an eye-opening performance to the audiences at the Civic Opera House in Chicago on Saturday, Dec. 27. Evelina, who came with her parents and sister, enjoyed “every moment of it.”
Evelina, an embryologist, shared her delight.
“I love it, we have enjoyed every moment of it. The costumes are wonderful, the dancers are amazing you can tell they are professional people.”
Evelina particularly liked the computer generated visions on the backdrops.
“We enjoyed the TV screen behind the dancers as well, because they kind of, you know, the dancing together with the background is really amazing. It adds something different. … It is really refreshing and new, traditional but new, if you know what I mean.”
Evelina also liked the music: “The music is wonderful as well, you can actually see something a little bit different, ... traditional. They are actually incorporating music as well to the show which is really nice and refreshing.
“It is different tradition, different culture, I have not seen anything like it before, so it was a very nice and interesting experience. I really loved it and I am so happy that I am here and that I can enjoy the show and to see another culture. It is Divine, I think it’s perfect.”
Evelina’s mother, Justyna, a physician, also appreciated many aspects of the performances.
“I really enjoyed the show as well. It is wonderful—the dancers, the music making you so calm and bringing you to other cultures. It’s beautiful. The music is amazing.”
