SAN DIEGO, California—Three members of the Nordquist family, including Ms. Nordquist, a journalist, her sister, a fitness professional, and their brother, a sales manager, attended the Divine Performing Arts show at the San Diego Civic Theatre on Dec. 27.

“I thought it was beautiful,” said Ms. Nordquist. “It was very moving, we really enjoyed it, it was beautiful. It was cool because there were so many different types of dance. It was very diverse, I thought, because you see stuff from all places. It was very interesting. I hadn’t seen anything like that before, the mixture.”

Mr. Nordquist said it was “just amazing” to see the portrayal of traditional Chinese culture in the show.

“To be able to see all the traditional dress and dancers, and to see all the different moves that come from classic dance ... is quite amazing. I tell you, I was pretty moved by the part where they were in meditation, and persecuted during meditation [“Persecuted on a Sacred Path”]. I thought that was pretty moving. And also, the tie-in with the cinematography, that was really neat,” he said, referring to the high definition digital projection on the backdrop.

Ms. Nordquist, the fitness professional, said the show gave her “an authentic look into Chinese culture. I think all around it was a good show and I think it gives Americans a good look into Chinese culture.”
