“I think people are very good and just have to be told sometimes that if you live amongst good people, you would automatically become good. This is a good message for this country, and for the world.”

SAN DIEGO—Cable systems design engineer Mr. Penungonda truly appreciated the messages conveyed by the Divine Performing Arts 2009 World Tour presentation, held at the San Diego Civic Theater on Dec 27.

He found the show: “very vibrant, very rhythmic dancers in excellent form. It’s interesting that core values displayed during the songs is so fundamental and taught by my parents in our own [Indian] culture, it’s amazing and refreshing to see. There’s a song, Follow the Path, my parents taught me to do that, that’s basically our traditional teachings.”

“Basically, [the show’s] fundamental values are so similar and that’s refreshingly joyful to see.”

He praised the DPA company for putting together “such a beautiful team, bold enough to display the courage to do that and it’s very welcome.”

Talking of the dancing Mr. Penungonda said, “I had a set of binoculars and was able to see the expressions, the legwork, costumes beautifully color-coordinated, and the choreography ...”

He said the male dancers “were vibrant, very rhythmic, and in excellent form, beautiful to see and visually fun.”

Mr. Penugonda, said “yes,” he liked the message of the show.

“I think people are very good and just have to be told sometimes that if you live amongst good people, you would automatically become good. This is a good message for this country, and for the world.”

When asked what message he would give to summarize the show, he said, “Let’s live happily together in peace and harmony, less conflict, let’s respect each other, let’s have freedom of thought and mind ... one particular act when one man was persecuted, let’s not even come close to that.”

He also offered thoughts on what the meaning of divine culture meant to him. Mr. Penungonda said: “Piety of thought. You meditate and feel one with a universal energy, and you feel good and that emits to the outside.”
