CINCINNATI, Ohio—On Tuesday, Dec. 23, business owners Mr. Mike Palacios and Mrs. Marianna Palacios braved the snowstorm to attend the Divine Performing Arts debut performance in Cincinnati.
“I’ve been to China,” Mr. Palacios said. “My wife and I actually own a company that imports products from China. What impressed me most about this show was the ability to see the culture that I did not see when I was in China. I had always been curious about what the true China was like before the Cultural Revolution. I am really pleased to see how spiritual Chinese people were, that they have this heritage of spirituality—and that’s what’s most impressive!”
His wife nodded in agreement, “Yes, it’s grace, and beauty and spirituality. Very beautiful, very beautiful!”
Mr. Palacios continued: “My favorite performance was the story of the man who came to one would listen to him. Instead they all thought that what he was warning them about was silly or untrue, or that he was crazy! In Western history, there are stories about people like this. But then it turns out that these prophets were telling the truth, and they are revealed to be enlightened people when everything they said turns out to be true.
“I know that there are things coming to this world that are going to be as dramatic as that mountain falling down. I think that very soon we are going to learn a great deal from the Chinese people, but I know that there is great work to be done. I have the feeling that somehow the Chinese people are going to help us understand what we think we understand now, but in fact, there’s a lot more to learn. This Divine Performing Arts shows us the depth and spirituality that the Chinese people
have.”
Mrs. Palacios said: “I am just so touched by the spirituality and the beauty of these performances. I would absolutely recommend this show to people. My husband and I are so pleased to hear that DPA is coming to Columbus, Ohio this spring. We’re definitely going to see it, and we'll bring friends of
ours with us!”
“Tonight I saw things that were taken away from the Chinese people during the Cultural Revolution,” Mr. Palacios. “There were many unique things on the stage here tonight that you cannot see in China. China no longer displays it’s entire culture. But, because we have freedom of speech in the United States, the performers from Divine Performing Arts are able to show us what Chinese culture was actually like before the Cultural Revolution. This is something that no one would have known about otherwise because of the way things are right now in China!”
