Dog Digs Up Ancient Human Skull and Other Archaeological Artifacts

“There was machetes, horns with shells wrapped around it, a whole bunch of animal skulls — I think two coyote skulls, a goat skull, and a bunch of bird skulls. And then when the fire pot broke, we saw an actual man full of human skulls.”

Every dog has its day.

4-year-old Sky got hers after 3 weeks of continuous digging. She made a big discovery Monday night in her U.S. city backyard.

Her owner Nathaniel Oberman says he just moved in.

“So the other day, she actually broke through to what looked like a small bone or something like that.”

Not just a bone. He says the Siberian Husky unearthed an unusual looking pot decorated with animal bones and other items.

“There was machetes, horns with shells wrapped around it, a whole bunch of animal skulls — I think two coyote skulls, a goat skull, and a bunch of bird skulls. And then when the fire pot broke, we saw an actual man full of human skulls.”

Oberman says he called police right after finding the human skull.

U.S. city police came out, put a crime tape, and called out anthropology experts from Chico State to examine the remains.

“Anthropologists think it was a Afro-Caribbean religion, which isn’t common up here, so that’s what what made it really odd, and they were kind of excited about it too.”

According to the Appeal Democrat, experts told police they believe the items are related to traditions of an ancient West African religion.

U.S. City police say the age of the skull is what they are most interested in. And as to where it came from, was their foul play ball.

So far, nothing has been ruled out.

Unfortunately for Sky, she'll have to find another bone to pick.
