FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida—This is the second consecutive year that the Divine Performing Arts World Tour has visited the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, a major arts complex in South Florida. And this year marked the second visit for many people who saw last year’s show.

Wayne and Cheryl M. and their children, Willow and William, liked the Divine Performing Arts Show so much last year that they returned to see the latest version.

“It was a spectacular performance, as usual,” said Cheryl. “I find that it’s very unique.”

“Last year we were at the first show, and that’s why we’re back. We really enjoy the cultural diversity. We are learning a lot about the culture of ancient China.”

Cheryl found particular appeal in the graceful movements of the female dancers. “I have always liked the feminine gestures of the women dancing; it’s different from dance styles like ballet.

Wayne felt that this year’s show, like last year’s, was “very, very nice.” The changing computer-generated backdrops, which play a much bigger part of the show this year, stood out as high points, as did the colorful costumes.

Wayne appreciated that both ancient and modern musical forms were represented. His favorite acts were the drumming numbers (“Drummers of the Tang Court” and “Dragon Spring Folk Drums”).

“The kids enjoyed the drumming. It’s always nice at a family show when there are pieces where the kids and the adults react the same way—with profound pleasure.”
