The 7th annual Long Beach International Film Festival (LBIFF) will be held on the beachfront in Long Beach, Long Island, N.Y., on Aug. 1–4, for four days of film screenings, panels, and culinary events.
On Aug. 2, LBIFF is partnering with Devour! The Food Film Fest to host Chefs & Shorts, a locally-sourced, five-course dinner with wine pairings, inspired by five short films. Guests will enjoy each course while viewing the film that inspired it: a blue corn tostada with chipotle-glazed octopus, sea urchin guacamole, and charred green tomato salsa inspired by the film “From Milpa to Mesa,” for instance, or a fruit salad with milk chocolate and yogurt mousse cake inspired by “Fruit.” $149 per person.
The food and film pairings continue on Aug. 3 with Taste on the Beach, featuring bites and sips from over 50 Long Island restaurants, distilleries, wineries, and breweries. Live musical performances will provide entertainment, and the evening will conclude with screenings of short films in a custom-built movie theater on the beach. $99 per person.
