Dale Pipe has been detained in an investigation over an unprovoked attack in a gym in the United Kingdom.

Pipe describes himself as The Joker, from the “Batman” stories, and posted photos on Facebook of himself shirtless and holding knives and washing blood from his hands.

He also posted the message “Ha ha ha why so serious,” a line from the 2008 “Batman” film from The Joker, reported BBC.

The actor who played The Joker in that movie, Heath Ledger, committed suicide after the film.

Pipe pleaded guilty to attempted murder in the stabbing of Josh Henley at Belle Vue Leisure Centre in Consett, County Durham, earlier this year.

Pipe has been placed in a mental hospital for his sentence.

Police found a range of knives, an axe, syringes, steroids, and duct tape in his bag after his arrest. He stabbed Henley in the back after waiting for him in the male changing rooms.

Henley survived despite being stabbed 16 times.

“My life changed significantly as a direct result of the actions of Dale Pipe,” Henley said after the sentencing. “I am relieved that the judge has seen fit to impose a sentence that will ensure Dale Pipe will not be a risk to anyone else in the future.”
