The Cranberries singer Dolores O'Riordan, best known for 1994 smash hit “Zombie,” has died at the age of 46, according to media reports on Monday.

O’Riordan is survived by her three children.

Her press agency confirmed the Irish singer’s death.

“Irish and international singer Dolores O’Riordan has died suddenly in London today. She was 46 years old. The lead singer with the Irish band The Cranberries, was in London for a short recording session. No further details are available at this time,” the agency said, according to The Journal of Ireland.

The agency said, “Family members are devastated to hear the breaking news and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.”

The cause of her death has not yet been revealed.

In May 2017, she opened up about her singing career.

“I’ve been singing since I was 5 years old,” she told The Irish News. “By the time I was 12, I was writing my own songs so, yeah, music has always been part of me. To be honest, I’ve never imagined doing anything else. I think at one time though, my mum, who’s deeply religious, might have had a notion of me becoming a nun!”

The band was formed in Limerick, Ireland, in 1989.

The Limerick Leader, her hometown paper, first broke the news on Monday.

Tributes poured in after news of her death emerged.
