Casino Boat Catches Fire in Florida, 1 Reported Missing

A casino boat has reportedly caught fire near the Gulf of Mexico in Port Richey, Florida, according to WFLA-TV.

The boat caught fire on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 14, at the Port Richey canal, the report stated. About 50 people were on board.

Forty-nine of the 50 passengers were able to make it to shore, but one passenger was reported missing, the report said.

Pasco Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to assist, as well as the Coast Guard and the Florida Wildlife Commission.

The fire happened near Harbor Point near Bay Boulevard, WTSP reported.
ABC Action News reported that 15 passengers were taken to the hospital, but the conditions of those people are unknown.

The cause of the fire wasn’t revealed.

Other details of the fire were not released.
