Former Hewlett-Packard Co. CEO Carly Fiorina announced her bid for the Republican presidential nomination on Monday.
One thing she is likely to regret is the fact that her team did not register all domain extensions with her name.
Someone who was fast enough to register the domain www.carlyfiorina.org is using it to say how many people Fiorina fired during her tenure as HP CEO.
The message posted on the website shows 30,000 sad faces.
The message underneath reads: “That’s 30,000 people she laid off. People with families. And what does she say she would have done differently?”
Fiorina was chief executive at HP from 1999 to 2005 during which she oversaw a merger with Compaq.
An estimated 30,000 people were fired from HP due to the merger and to outsourcing jobs from the United States to other countries.
Other web extensions such as www.carlyfioina.info have not yet been registered.
Fiorina isn’t the only politician to have trouble with domain names.
Hillary Clinton, who announced her presidential bid last month, was not quick enough to register hillaryforpresident.com.
Instead, the site redirects to a republican website shown below.
Tea Party favorite Ted Cruz, known for his outspoken views on immigration, was not able to secure the domain www.tedcruz.com Instead the site shows a message in support of President Barack Obama’s immigration reform.
