Cardi B’s Entourage Attacked Fan Who Demanded Autograph After Met Gala
Several members of Cardi B’s entourage were accused of beating a man after he asked for her autograph after the Met Gala on Monday, May 7.
TMZ captured footage of what the site alleges was the American rapper’s security team hitting an overzealous fan, who was repeatedly asking her for an autograph even after she declined.
It was Cardi B’s first time at the Met Gala. Giovanni Arnold told The Blast that he was the victim of the assault, and said that it was Cardi B’s fiancé, Offset, who told their entourage to “go after” him, after which he was pushed to the ground and beaten.
Police confirmed to PEOPLE that there was a physical altercation outside the Mark Hotel at 2:15am local time on Tuesday after a man approached the rapper. Suspects fled the scene before officers arrived, while the victim was rushed to New York Presbyterian Hospital with minor injuries and is in stable condition, police confirmed.
The currently pregnant Cardi B sent out a tweet late Tuesday, May 8, which has since been deleted.
“If you check my tag pics i take a lot of pics with fans. Some people are not fans &sometimes i don’t want no pics and i simply don’t want people too close cause of (pregnancy emoji), ” she wrote.
“i don’t know what are people’s intentions sooo i Be careful .Why can’t people respect that?”
