A 2-year-old boy was killed in a multi-car crash in Pennsylvania, and police are accusing the boy’s father of fleeing after stealing merchandise from a nearby Walmart.
Kuhn then ran away after the crash and stepped over his son on the roadway before leaving.
Police officers ran after him and arrested him shortly afterwards, as officers tended to the boy.
The child was then taken to Lower Bucks Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Kuhn was charged with third-degree murder and other offenses. The child wasn’t placed in a car seat, police added.
Bucks County District Attorney said that he briefly stopped to look at his son before fleeing.
No one else was seriously hurt in the crash, police said.
Kuhn was also driving with a suspended license and was charged with homicide by vehicle, accidents involving death or injury while not properly licensed, retail theft, child endangerment and motor vehicle offenses.
He’s being held on $5 million bail. His next court date is Oct. 10.
