‘Black Panther’s’ Vibranium Tech Near to Reality
According to a report by ScreenRant, the “Black Panther’s” Vibranium technology may be closer to reality than many people think. While there may not yet exist a magical metal that can absorb and redistribute energy, modern science offers several materials that share certain outstanding properties with the make-believe Marvel metal. One of which is the universally renowned battlefield armor, Kevlar.
Kevlar does, however, fall short on the flexibility front. Then there is “dragon silk,” which is being developed by the U.S. Army and is significantly more flexible than Kevlar, but only 67 percent as strong. Graphene, on the other hand, is a semi-metal that is stronger than both Kevlar and steel and capable of redistributing impacts through the material as vibrations. The material is composed of diamond-based carbon bonds.
