Apple Plans to Build Campus In North Carolina – Potentially 20,000 New Employees
Apple CEO Tim Cook has indicated in a recent interview that the company’s new campus will be built in Research Triangle Park in North Carolina, despite rumors last month that Apple was most interested in Virginia.
Cook also said in an interview he gave last month while he was in Durham to deliver the commencement address at Duke University that Apple also plans to hire 20,000 additional people.
Many jobs openings will be available in North Carolina if the campus is built there. Sources have told WRAL and WRAL TechWire that Apple is seriously considering putting $1.5 billion into a $600 million campus.
