Anthony Bourdain Is Now Cremated
Anthony Bourdain was cremated in France about a week after his death.
The famous chef and television host was 61 years old when he was found dead on June 8 in his hotel room in Kayserberg, France.
Bourdain’s mother Gladys Bourdain traveled to France after the death.
Us Weekly reported that Bourdain was cremated in the country on June 14.
Gladys Bourdain told the New York Post that the cremated remains are expected to be shipped to the United States soon.
“They won’t be shipping his remains back for a couple of days because of formalities,” the 83-year-old said on June 10. She said Bourdain’s estranged wife Ottavia Busia Bourdain is planning the funeral.
French officials said no foul play is suspected. Bourdain was in the country filming for “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown” with friend and fellow chef Eric Ripert.
